From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The CFI and his student were about to practice the students first landing when on final approach to Chino (cno) airport, with little help from the CFI the student flaired the aircraft and landed on the right side of the centerline of runway 26R. The CFI states that he believes the landing was a little too fast and that in order to correct from landing on the right side of the runway, the student added either left brake or left rudder. The aircraft started to skid almost instantly. The CFI applied full right rudder but the aircraft had already skidded too FAR left and by the time he got the aircraft straight they were off the runway. The aircraft impacted the 21-3 runway sign and flipped over nose down.
