From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

According to the pilot, "on 12/15/2018 at approximately at 1155 mountain standard time (MST) a Froelich Robert E. Lancair IV was returning from flight and lined up on runway 35 at around 80 KIAS. Touchdown was normal and smooth, but when I lowered the nose to the runway I felt the nose gear touch followed by it continuing to collapse with parts of the shattering prop scattered about as we slid to a stop. Two personnel were on board with no injuries." No mechanical failure could be identified.
