From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated just before touchdown, he noticed a rock sticking through the snow and tried to make a slight course adjustment to the left avoid the rock. The airplane contacted the ground with left ski first and bounced. When the right ski contacted the ground, the aircraft was not straight with the direction of travel. The right ski edge caught the snow, it folded the gear leg under. The right wing contacted the ground and broke the spars outboard of the wing strut. A review of FAA data shows the pilot's last medical exam was in 1995.
