From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On may 15, 2019 at approximately 0235Z, aircraft lost power due to fuel depletion in the left tank. PIC was in the traffic pattern on approach to landing at 1,000 feet AGL and had switched to what he thought was the fullest tank. PIC switched back to the right tank which had fuel, activated the boost pump, and engaged the starter. PIC was unable to restore power and made an emergency landing approximately 1/2 mile short of OR96 runway 33. Aircraft received substantial damage and a passenger was treated for minor injuries.

PIC had ordered fuel before the flight but did not get the quantity that was ordered. PIC did not verify quantity on board before departure.
