From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot and instructor where practicing a single engine ILS. Pilot went through landing checklist, gear handle placed in down position. Instructor and pilot did not verify that gear was down via green light. Aircraft was told to go around by tower due to not having landing gear in the down position. Aircraft struck the runway with its propellers. Aircraft entered down wind, pilot attempted to cycle the landing gear, it did not come down. Pilot flew low approach and had tower confirm gear not down. Pilot extended the landing gear manually. Landed without issue, propellers were damaged.

Aircraft was later placed on jacks and the gear was cycled. Gear did not come down 2 out of the 8 times attempted.
