From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Prior to FAA arrival accident scene was tampered with by aircraft owner which is also pilots dad, inlue of going to hospital. The pilot reports while returning to jourdanton, TX he spotted feral hogs in a pasture. He then states with sun in eyes and dust from field he made a pedal turn which caused tail rotor to hit power lines next to road. Pilot eliminated altitude and crash approx. 30' from power line. The accident scene detail shows feral hog trail approx. 40' from road and running parallel. The rotorcraft was located between trail and power lines. For the rotor craft tail wheel to strike power line the pilot would not have sun in eyes but would have visual of hogs and trail. It is highly possible the pilot's attention was on the hogs and tail rotor location was lapsed. Inspection of aircraft interior located spent 7.62 casings.
