From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Ground incident: during pre-flight and engine start operations, engine starter did not engage engine, resulting in a no-start. Pilot terminated start operations/checklist, turned off powers/switches, set parking brake and exited the cockpit. Pilot began procedure to slowly turn the engine through via a slow propeller rotation, at which time the engine unexpectedly started. Parking brake held for a moment, and then released. The aircraft then collided with a hangar after the aircraft moved forward. The airframe struck an electrical transformer box, which caused a fire and subsequent loss of the aircraft and its contents.
