From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Information gathered from crew report:

"While configuring and slowing outside of the woris intersection on the ILS for runway 04. We made contact with at least one bird (maybe more). Just cleared an overcast and it was dark and rainy when we heard a really loud "thunk". Autopilot was engaged, flight control was not effected, and no engine performance issues were detected. We continued to land safely and upon post flight we noted a significant dent at the wing root with blood splatter all down the side and on, and around the engine (CA side). We reported the damage to dispatch and moc. Unfortunate, but unavoidable."

Interim repairs made to the bird strike damage, aircraft performed a non-revenue ferry flight to cvg for permanent repair.
