From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Witness statements had the aircraft approximately half a mile west of the Daybreak Airport (WA46) traveling in a northwesterly direction at about 200-300 feet AGL. The aircraft turned south towards the airport maneuvering as it was going to land. The aircraft then made a sharp left turn and descended below the tree line as if it was going to land. Then heard a loud noise. The aircraft came to rest nose down approximately 500 feet east of the threshold of runway 31. The aircraft was operated by a student pilot.
