From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

14 CFR 91 VFR flight from commerce TX (2F7) to caddo mills TX (7F3). Instructional flight with CFI and aircraft owner aboard. While enroute at approximately 2000 MSL altitude and 8 miles northeast of destination airport 7F3, the engine stopped producing power. The propeller continued to windmill. CFI attempted restart of the engine according to the ?engine failure in flight? Checklist. The engine would not restart. CFI landed the aircraft in a plowed but fairly smooth and soft dirt field, just south of us 380. Landed in a southerly direction into the wind and after approximately 300-400 ft rollout, the aircraft nose wheel struck a ditch causing the nose gear to collapse.
