From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On may 31, 2020 the little rock FSDO received notification via phone from the regional operations center that the pilot of N52794, a Cessna 172S, at 3M0 at 1744Z lost directional control on takeoff from rwy 6 and veered left striking trees and causing substantial damage.

A review of the weather at the time of the accident revealed nothing significant or contributing. A review of airman's records and history was unremarkable. Airman provided documentation of flight review, aircraft maintenance records, and sleep logs. Investigating ASI determined that aircraft was in an airworthy condition based off of maintenance logs and aircraft records. No other apparent factors contributed to this accident.

Investigation results revealed the pilot improperly manipulated the flight controls during an aborted takeoff from a soft runway, and subsequently caused the aircraft to veer left into the trees at a higher ground speed causing significant damage.

As the FAA filed it
