What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot had not yet soloed in weight shift aircraft but felt comfortable from last session to perform take offs and landings safely. Take off and pattern were normal. On short final, the pilot got too low, added power and went into the flare which created a sudden sink. The action resulted in the pilot pulling on the control bar, nose diving and impacting the ground.
Pulling back on a weight shift control has an adverse effect.
