From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

I departed falcon field, at approximately 12:45 for the short flight to AK chin (A39) to fuel my airplane. I climbed to 3,500 feet and the air became turbulent. AWOS reported winds 260/8. I chose a direct approach to runway 22 at A39. I announced my intentions on CTAF. No other traffic was in the area at the time. I began my descent and the air became more turbulent and the winds were shifting. As I set up for the final to runway 22 I conducted my gumps check as I was bouncing through the air. I later would learn I had omitted dropping the gear, verifying the green light and checking the mirrors. On final I experienced gusts that forced me to add and decrease manifold pressure often. As I started the flare for landing I heard the gear horn but it was too late to go around. After the airplane came to a stop I exited with no injuries. I was met by the airport manager.

As the FAA filed it
