From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot in command statement:

Weather was around 800' ceilings, 3SM vis, with rain. I circled the Lagoon from Chignik lake clockwise and approached the airport (Chignik Lagoon, kcl) from the north-east. Comparing my indicated airspeed from the ground speed on the garmin GPS installed in the aircraft, I decided a straight-in on runway 22 was acceptable. Rain on the windscreen made seeing clearly difficult, so I flew the approach high to avoid hitting the embankment on the approach end of rwy 22. I touched down around or just after the first 1/3RD of the runway and initiated braking. As I crossed halfway I realized I wasn't slowing down fast enough, but by then I was going too slow, with too little runway remaining, to initiate a go-around. I ended up crossing the threshold at no more than 10 or 15 knots.

As the FAA filed it
