What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On June 19th 2020, at approximately 1745Z a student pilot conducting solo take-offs, traffic patterns and procedures. The pilot reported that on touchdown the aircraft bounced. He initially put in full throttle to conduct a go-around, but then pulled the throttle back out and attempted to proceed with the landing. Upon removing power the aircraft sank and impacted the ground. The pilot attempted to slow the aircraft by applying brakes and pulling back on the flight controls. The aircraft veered off the left side of the runway and tipped up on its nose. This caused the prop to strike the ground and damage the engine truss. The left wing also struck the ground, which wrinkled the upper and lower wing skin and damaged the rear spar.
