From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The PIC reported making a normal landing on runway 15. During the rollout, the tower controller advised that they were trailing smoke. An aircraft waiting to depart runway 15 also confirmed the smoke. The PIC then looked over their left shoulder and confirmed that white smoke appeared to be coming from the left engine. Cleared the runway on taxiway c and notified the controller that they would be shutting down the engines. The controller asked if they wanted him to "roll the trucks", the PIC said yes and that they would be evacuating the aircraft. After exiting the aircraft, the PIC reports noticing white smoke billowing from the left engine exhaust pipe.
Maintenance inspected and found the left engine turbocharger oil inlet fitting was cracked and leaking oil on to the hot turbocharger, causing the smoke. The inlet fitting and turbocharger were replaced. All checks normal.
As the FAA filed it
THE PIC REPORTED MAKING A NORMAL LANDING ON RUNWAY 15.
