From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The listed aircraft was cleared to depart rwy 17R from taxiway charlie.

During the takeoff roll, the aircraft cabin door became unlatched and opened just before rotation speed;

The takeoff was aborted while passing taxiway echo; ATCT was informed they would continue to the exit at the end of runway 17R and exit via taxiway lima. The aircraft, having differential steering, turned toward taxiway lima but, because of ineffective, overheated brakes & high rate of speed, veered toward lima and off the runway into the infield and became disabled.
