From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot recently purchased the aircraft, and was conducting his first flight trying to learn the aircraft. He stated that he had conducted about a 30 minute flight around the airport with no issues. After the initial flight, the pilot landed and attempted to take off for another flight, when the engine stopped producing power between 100-150 feet off the ground. The pilot was able to conduct a 150 degree turn to the left and land in an elementary school playground and stop in about 40 feet.
