From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During the landing flare at Burnt Corral meadown the pilot reported losing sight of the airstrip due to trees in front of the aircraft. The pilot decided to go-around because past training taught him that going-around is always the correct option. He stated that in this case going-around was the wrong option because of the obstacles in the flight path. During the go-around the pilot reported out climbing trees until he turned right and the airplane?s right wing struck a tree. The pilot reported that he tried to fly the airplane to the ground.
