From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

ATP returning to the ga environment and practicing takeoffs and landings at kdaw Rochester, NH to improve experience and establish a consistent flow pattern/checklist procedure for approach and landing. The pilot had been receiving water landing training for this particular aircraft type. The first two landings were uneventful. On the third the pilot was concentrating on simulation of an approach to water landing. This aircraft type does not have a gear warning system installed. The pilot was momentarily distracted by differences in the flow pattern/checklist for water operations. The gear was not extended and the aircraft landed on the belly keel. The pilot sustained no injury. The aircraft was lifted by jacks and the gear extended. Inspection by an independent A&P mechanic affirmed only minor damage to the aircraft.
