From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was enroute from toussaint air park, OH. To kmpg (marshall co.) WV approximately 12 miles prior to arriving at kmpg the engine failed. The pilot stated that when it was determined she couldn't make it to kmpg she initiated a 180 turn to a closer airport it became apparent she couldn't make it. She then chose an open pasture field and landed in the pasture. The aircraft received substantial damage.

The general aviation accident/incident (8020-9) form indicated one injury, yet upon interviewing the pilot she stated, "I was not injured".
