From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Jan. 4, 2021. At approximately 1541 eastern standard time, an incident report was generated for civil aircraft N856UP, a Textron aviation, inc., super king air 350, model BE-300-B300, with serial number FL-1029 operated by gama aviation, LLC. The crew reported that while on final approach approximately five (5) miles from and at between two thousand (2000) and three thousand (3000) feet above ground level (AGL), entering the left downwind to runway five (5) to Coral Creek Airport (FA54) airport located in Placida, Florida. The aircraft impacted a bird with the left hand horizontal stabilizer. The crew stated that they felt a large vibration throughout the aircraft. The crew made the decision to divert to punta gorda airport (pgd) due to the speed the aircraft was traveling and the size of the bird observed at the time of impact. The aircraft landed at pgd and taxied to the ramp without further incident. The aircraft suffered impact damage to the left hand outboard section of the horizontal stabilizer leading edge (l.e.), adjacent l.e. supporting ribs and the spar web.
