From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

4-10-21 Departed river hill airport PN46 at 9:03 am.

Increasing south winds resulted in the decision to land at Mercer County blf.

Winds favored runway 23 and approach and landing went normal with touchdown at 25MPH indicated.

On roll out a strong gust from the left began to weathervane the aircraft and full right rudder and brake failed to stop the left turn.

(The tailwheel is a non locking full swivel) at some point the right cabane strut failed in compression and allowed the right gear leg to rotate under the fuselage at which time the right wing tip came in contact with the pavement and damaged the right wing.

PIC attempted maneuvers to correct the aircraft attitude during roll out wind gusts. Per. PIC statement.
