From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed hom with 15 gallons of fuel. The aircraft burns 4 gallons per hour. At the time of descent, the aircraft flew 2.3 hours to bcv. The pilot stated his fuel gauges indicated just below 1/4 tank on the right and just above 1/4 tank on the left. He selected the fullest tank before descent. The pilot didn't like the conditions in the flare and initiated a go-around. The flight manual states not to initiate takeoff with less than 1/4 tank. At approximately 100 feet above the trees, the engine quit. The pilot executed an emergency landing off airport resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft and no injuries to pilot or passenger.
