From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On landing rollout at ggg NLG suffered a broken main tube failure and collapsed to the left side of the nose. Propeller absorbed impact on the ground. Onsite inspection of the aircraft shows no damage to fuselage or firewheel and engine mount is not damaged.

Inspection of the aircraft finds the break centered just below the welds attaching the side braces to the

Main tube. One area of the fractured tube shows a shiny polished like surface which may indicate a working crack.

NTSB declined further investigation.
