From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

From edited statement of airman privacy data omitted:

"I was entering a downwind for 19L. I was turning base, other aircraft in the pattern stated strong wind and gusts. I called long final 2 miles out, it was turbulent, but I had no trouble handling it,

Indicated airspeed was about 70 and GPS ground speed 50.

I didn?t add flaps until I was at 500? AGL when I put in 15% flaps.

Around 200? AGL I was having trouble keeping the plane level and lined up on the runway.

The right wing lifted about 20 or 30 degrees, I moved the stick right, that helped, I pushed full right rudder and the plane turned to the left.

Due to a bad cross wind, I decided to land off the runway in a big grass field.

Then the right wing hit a chain link fence."
