From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

When landing, the right seat pilot/flight instructor stated that at approximately 100 feet above ground level, the left seat pilot called out a loss of left rudder authority as the aircraft drifted toward the east and the airspeed slowed. The right seat pilot/flight instructor stated the aircraft had entered into a quartering headwind to tailwind shear. The left seat pilot initiated a go-around; however, the aircraft did not climb and continued to drift and descended into a taxiway sign. The right seat pilot/flight instructor then took control of the aircraft and completed the landing.
