From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

This was an introductory first training flight; instructor in right seat and student in left seat. A full briefing was given including use of brakes as there were no brakes on the right side of the aircraft. Toe brakes were on the left side and a handle under the center console applied both brakes simultaneously.

A normal approach and landing flown by the instructor pilot occurred. When the student was told to gently apply some braking the student pressed hard on the right side only causing the plane to veer off the runway at low speed striking a runway light. There was minor damage only to nose wheel and prop with no injuries.
