From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

One June 14 2021 at 0700 local during descent into klxv the aircraft experienced an uncommanded loss of power and landed off airport. Both occupants were uninjured but the aircraft sustained substantial damage.

Comment:

The PIC explained they were descending into klxv with the gear down and flaps 10 degrees when the engine felt like someone had just smoothly pulled power to idle and failed. The PIC and pilot passenger attempted to restart the engine with no success. They turned slightly to the left and landed in an off airport environment of willows. The wreckage was removed via helicopter and then transported to a storage facility for further examination.
