From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot overflew the airport to check the wind sock and entered a right downwind for runway 10. Pilot was high on the approach and slipped the aircraft to lose the altitude. The pilot set up for a wheel landing and had the right wing low for the crosswind. As the right main touched down the airplane veered sharply to the left. Pilot applied full power for a go around but did not regain flying speed in time to avoid the trees and bushes on the left side of the runway. The aircraft hit and then came to a stop in the trees.
