From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 21 at approximately 11:10 am the pilot involved in this accident attempted landing runway 31 at the Jacksonville municipal airport (kijx) to refuel his aircraft. During the landing roll the pilot reportedly flared too early and too high. In attempt to salvage the landing from this position the pilot let the aircraft settle to the runway too abruptly; bounced, then go-around was attempted. During the bounce recovery phase, the pilot added full power and had forgotten to raise his flaps. The full power application combined with full flaps caused the nose of the aircraft to pitch excessively high resulting in stall and impact with the ground just left of the runway in the grass.

As the FAA filed it
