From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During climb-out, the pilot noticed the aircraft would not achieve a positive rate of climb. The pilot decided to abort the take-off, reduced power, and attempted to land using the remaining runway. Realizing there was not enough runway and not wanting to impact a chain link fence, he added power. The aircraft cleared the fence and touched down in a yard/gravel driveway across the street from the airport. The aircraft continued on into a wooded area and struck several trees before coming to rest in a nose down inverted position against a tree.

As the FAA filed it
