From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Departed from kosh on night VFR to ktip with control clearance with flight following, approximately about 20NM I contacted and stablished communication with Wisconsin approach. At the same time at about 5500 feet I experienced with unlatched canopy and it flipped fully opened. I immediately pull the throttle back to reduce the airspeed and diverted the flight back to kosh. In route I announced to Wisconsin approach that we have open canopy and returning back to kosh and later in flight squawked 7700. I found the airport flew over midfield saw gun signal made a standard traffic pattern and executed a normal landing. I met the fire truck and talked with tower and had fire truck to escort me to privacy data omitted.
