From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Passenger/pilot statement: privacy data omitted departed kbmt on the afternoon of 9/17/2021 for the practice area west of the airport. I was piloting the airplane from the front seat at this point. We flew for about 20 minutes and then returned to kbmt and landed on runway 13. We then switched seats with the intention of privacy data omitted doing a few touch and goes. After departing runway 13 privacy data omitted stayed in a closed right pattern. The circuit was flown inside, east side, of the plant at the nw corner of airport and a base turn was made south of the powerlines on the north end of the airport. At some point during the decent and after the base to final turn was initiated we impacted the ground while still in a right banking attitude. The right wing impacted the ground, quickly followed by the nose of the aircraft. It came to rest facing what seemed to be 180 degrees from the heading that carried it to the ground.
