From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot was on his first flight of the day performing pattern work. The pilot mentioned on an interview by phone on November 10, 2021 at approximately 3:15 p.m. PDT, that he was on downwind when he noticed that the aircrafts alternator was not charging the battery. The pilot said the radio stopped working and he got distracted. He said that he made a long turn to final. The pilot mentioned that he landed long towards the end of the runway and the aircraft rolled off the runway into the dirt. The aircraft ended up in a ditch on its right side causing substantial damage to its right wing. Signatures of the propeller as well as the interview with the pilot indicate that the engine was operating at a low idle when it impacted the ditch. There was no further damage revealed.
