From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Approximately 2 hours after getting the experimental airworthiness certificate issued by an FAA inspector from the will rogers FSDO, the privacy data omittedpilot took off solo on first flight of his amateur built aircraft and immediately lost engine power. Having no time to turn or enough runway to land and roll-out properly, he landed straight ahead and purposefully turned off the active onto a wide grassy area where he forced a ground loop to avoid exiting airport property through the perimeter fence and onto a busy street. Minor aircraft damage sustained but no injury.
