From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During an Off Airport landing attempt, after aerial assessment of the landing area, when the pilot touched down at his intended touchdown point while landing uphill he crested a small hill with too much speed, initiated a go around, got airborne, and then hit the landing gear on the next hill, thereby causing the aircraft to nose over, coming to a rest on its back. No injuries. Prop strike occurred as well as substantial damage to the tail and both right wing struts. The wings appeared to be undamaged.
