From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Examination of the aircraft and crash site:

On October 27, 2021, the FAA iic arrived on scene at 11:45 am, EST.

October 27th, 2021, FAA iic inspector privacy data omitted arrived at Immokalee regional airport (imm) fixed based operator (FBO) and met briefly with the airport manager privacy data omitted. privacy data omitted Provided copies of written statements, airman records and other documentation obtained during post-accident interviews with the two pilots. privacy data omitted And a line service technician provided transportation to the landing site of N305JD.

The aircraft was located on the east side of the Immokalee regional airport in a wooded area. The Piper pa 46 350P, N305JD attempted simulated engine failure from a left downwind position of runway 27 and crashed on the east side, outside the immediate airport boundary, while on final for runway 27. The location of N305JD was located at position of N26 degrees 26 minutes and 14.82 seconds and W-81 degrees 23 minutes and 7.22 seconds on the estimated heading of 270 degrees magnetic heading. The aircraft initially made contact with a marshy area approximately 1100 feet east of the threshold for runway 27.

The left wing separated appeared to have a rotational with the leading edge of the wing rotating downward. When looking at the left wing from the tip to the root, the leading edge moved from roughly the 9 olclock position (normal) to the 6 o?clock position. Fuel lines appeared damaged and it appeared subsequent fuel had leaked from the wing.

The right wing was in tact, with the root trailing edge section separating from the aileron for an estimated 24 ? 30 inches, moving upward.

Fuel was surrounded the aircraft in the marshy area and airport and environmental staff used a series of spill containment products to prevent the fuel from leaving the immediate area of the aircraft. There was no post impact or post-crash fire.

The nose of the aircraft was a three bladed hartzell propeller.

On October 27, 2021, NTSB investigator privacy data omitted recovered the wreckage and transported the aircraft to their hangar in Florida.

ON OCTOBER 27, 2021, NTSB INVESTIGATOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ RECOVERED THE WRECKAGE AND TRANSPORTED THE AIRCRAFT TO THEIR HANGAR IN FLORIDA.
