From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 11/20/2021 the instructor was providing flight instruction to student/owner in helicopter N210JB (k-copter 47 G-2).

At approximately 1126 local time, while awaiting for clearance to cross the runway, the aircraft experienced a nose pitch up, the tail of the aircraft struck the ground and the tail rotor gearbox broke free from the aircraft. The nose pitched down, the aircraft entered a right yaw and a left rolling motion. The main rotor blades contacted the ground and the helicopter came to rest on its left side.

Both occupants survived the accident. The student was able to exit the aircraft on his own. The instructor remained in the aircraft until emergency crew arrived and was extracted by the emergency crew. Both occupants were transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The instructor remained in the hospital for greater than 48 hours for observation.
