From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Witness statements and flight track data indicate:

N3737H made a low slow speed flyby of runway 25 heg. Witnesses observed the pilot lowering the nose of the aircraft and established a low climb attitude. As he passed midfield, small power adjustments could be heard. No other engine abnormalities. The landing gear was observed coming up and the baggage compartment door pop open. The climb gradient became shallow with a slow turn to the right. Departure appeared normal climbing to 200-400 feet, estimated. Aircraft appeared to experience a slight buffet, a stall with the right wing drop and enter an almost most vertical spiral. Aircraft continued in a spiral until contacting the ground in the middle of the cow pasture. 2 fatal
