From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft had departed from klas at approximately 1241 PST, with 56 persons on board, headed to kmsp and reportedly experienced a gear retraction problem shortly after liftoff. The aircraft returned to klas and reported normal gear indication prior to landing.

Upon touching down on the runway, the right main landing gear collapsed and the aircraft settled onto the right engine pod.

The crew was able to safely stop the plane on the runway and emergency equipment were standing by.

The passengers were removed from the plane via airstairs and there was no reported injuries.

During an initial investigation, pieces of what appear to be part of the landing gear trunnion were found on the runway in the area of where the aircraft touched down. A portion of the right main gear was found protruding through the top of the right wing.

There was no sign of fire or fuel leaks and the aircraft damage appears to be limited to the right main landing gear, right engine cowl and damage to the right wing.
