From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The student pilot was scheduled to fly on a first supervised solo flight. The instructor gave all the instruction required and made all the appropriate endorsements for this flight. The plan was for the student to fly solo from hii, lake havasu, AZ to 49X, chemhuevi valley, CA, conduct takeoffs and landings there then return to lake havasu, AZ. The CFI was planning to watch the flight from a local park between the two neighboring airports. During one of the touch and go landings, the pilot attempted a soft field takeoff, lost directional control and floated off the runway surface and came to sudden stop against some trees. The wing spar was bent and there was significant damage.
