From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The commercial pilot reported that, during a RNAV approach into bbw runway-32, the aircraft was picking up light rime icing. After breaking out of the clouds, approximate 2,000 feet AGL, the pilot reported, during the roll-out to flare stage the wind shifted from 25 knots down the runway to a 45 degree crosswind from the right. To execute the sudden crosswind landing, the pilot attempted to land right main the left main, then the nose. The pilot reported he did it that way, but experienced a loss of lift from the removal of the headwind and the ice that a cumulated during the approach phase. The pilot witnessed during the airplane's flare that the aircraft fell for apporximatly 10-15 feet AGL. The airplane touched down hard on the right main and the pilot reported a noticed vibration after touch down. After parking and unloading the airplane, the pilot conducted an exterior post-flight inspection. No discrepancies were noted or recorded.

As the FAA filed it
