From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N97WG, a CCX-2000 experimental amateur built aircraft was landing on runway 31 at the dalles airport (dls). The pilot touched down and when the tail wheel contacted the runway the aircraft veered to the right, ground looping the aircraft. When the aircraft ground looped to the right the left hand (LH) main landing gear shock failed and this resulted in the LH main gear collapsing under the aircraft and the tip of the LH wing contacted the runway resulting in substantial damage to the wing and LH aileron.
