From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 3/14/2022 afternoon aircraft departed psp with landing gears extended for kwjf to get nose landing gear checked at privacy data omitted. Pilot privacy data omitted was accompanied by privacy data omitted and friend pilot privacy data omitted. After the maintenance performed on the nose landing gear and the successful operational checks of the landing gear with aircraft on jacks, privacy data omitted returned the aircraft to service. Pilot and privacy data omitted and his pilot friend privacy data omitted as a passenger on the right seat took off from kwjf to perform test flight and gear swing operation. Pilot stated that gear retracted normally after the take off. Climbed to 4000 feet cycled gears two more times and returned to kwjf for landing. On approach when

Pilot selected gear handle down but landing gear did not extend, the gear up and locked green light went out but hydraulic power on red light did not come on and no normal gear lowering noise was not present. At the same time pilot noticed that engine had quit and it?s not producing any power. There was no response to throttle movement and propeller was wind milling. Pilot stated that aircraft radios were still working he contacted tower and declared emergency. Pilot switched from right fuel tank which was showing 10 gallons to left tank which was showing 12 gallons but engine power did not come back. Aircraft hit the airport perimeter fences as pilot tried to avoid the power / telephone cables and touch down on the soft dirt and bushes and stopped after skidding approx. 150 feet.
