From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC was receiving flight instruction from the SIC during the March 27,2022, flight.

Aircraft departed VFR from the lawrence regional airport lawrence, KS, (klwc) en-route to Hastings Municipal Airport Hastings, NE (khsi). Purpose for flight reposition to fuel at khsi then continue training after the fuel stop.

Upon touch down on rwy 32 at khsi scraping sound was heard and airplane developed a right turn which was corrected using left rudder and brake.

With a sudden right wing drop the aircraft veered to the right departing centerline heading towards the east edge of runway 32. Unable to control the aircraft, SIC pulled the condition levers to emergency stop and shut down both engines simultaneously. Aircraft slid off of the runway and came to rest in the grass with the right wing tiptank touching the ground.
