What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The pilot stated during an interview that the preflight inspection was done inside the hanger and ramp personnel pushed the aircraft out of the hanger, however a final walk around the aircraft was not done and the push-bar still attached to the nose strut was not noticed.
Upon engine start, the propeller struck the push-bar and knocked it off of the nose strut and the aircraft was flown 15 flights with the damaged propeller. There is no evidence at this time showing that the pilot was aware of the propeller striking the push-bar and damage done prior to any flight.
The pilot stated that the propeller damage was noticed when pushing the aircraft into the hanger at the end of day, and notified company maintenance control and annotated the discrepancy in the aircraft logbook.
