From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Instruction flight, student pilot was practicing flight take off and landings. Student pilot made approach. CFI checked wind sock which showed no wind gusts. CFI instructed student to adjust for crosswind, but nearer to touchdown student neutralized control inputs for crosswind. The landing was slightly hard, which caused them to bounce. Student inputed left rudder to steer back to the centerline. This turned out to be excessive and the plane turned left while traveling down the runway. Aircraft started to skid and the CFI took controls to attempt to straighten out the aircraft. The aircrafts right main lifted due to the momentum rotating on the nosewheel. At this point the propeller struck the runway. CFI taxied to ramp and notified tower. No injuries. Damage to propeller.

As the FAA filed it
