From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The wichita FSDO has concluded through eyewitness accounts, witness statements, and on-site analysis that the cause of accident for N37888 on 04/28/2022 was loss of control due to unrecoverable stall and spin at an altitude of under 300 feet AGL.

While entering a left base turn after takeoff from Syracuse-municipal airport runway 18, the aircraft engine was still under power but began running ?rough? According to witness reports. The pilot attempted a 180 degree turn in order to land back on runway 18. This turn, combined with a critically-high angle of attack and low airspeed initiated a stall/spin. The aircraft impacted the ground parallel with the 1000 foot markers of runway 18. This accident is delayed fatal due to pilot expiring 21 days post-accident.
