From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was setting up to land using a right pattern to runway 5. Pilot stated that he had not flown right traffic pattern in a long time. Pilot had aircraft set to land, and shortly after he made his base to final turn, he realized he had overshot the final. Pilot aborted the approach to runway 5, decided to go around and fly a left hand pattern to runway 23. Pilot stated that he does not recall retracting the landing gear. Pilot heard gear warning 2-4 seconds before hearing the grinding noises of the prop striking the runway. Aircraft skidded to a stop on the right half of the runway.
